Jo Henning
Norwegian guitarist known for his work with former Deep Purple man, Glenn Hughes & Come Taste the Band and a host of other band and projects. Born on october 27, 1970 in Gvarv, Norway. Jo Henning picked up the guitar after being inspired by Deep Purple's Stormbringer as a teenanger. Other inspirations than the obvius Ritchie Blackmore was Tommy Bolin, Rory Gallagher, David Gilmour and Jimi Hendrix.
By 1992 Jo Henning had played with several rock bands and formed a group with other local musicans, called Painless. This band toured intensivly and included later members of such well known bands as Kaizer Orhestra. The band was heavely influenced by the motown scene and played mostly soul and funk material.
In 1997 Jo Henning met up with former schoolmate Vidar Heldal to form COME TASTE THE BAND. This hardrocking band would produce many tours, several albums/DVD's and ultimatly ending up playing with former Deep Purple bassman/vocalist, Glenn Hughes. CTTB is enjoing great sucess and after hundreds of concerts is still out on the road pleasing the classic rock audience!
In between Jo Henning has written and recorded music for several movies, played guitar with funk outfit NOVA, recorded and played live with canadian singer Stone Will Sterling and recorded with YR. Jo Henning is also working as a guitar teacher and has his own studio.
